McBrine for State Senate Showcases Campaign Endorsements, Capped by Support from President Obama

Dr. Katie McBrine, Democratic candidate for State Senate, Plymouth and Norfolk, has earned an impressive roster of endorsements since announcing her campaign in March 2018. The most prestigious endorsement is that of President Barack Obama, who is lending his support to key, change-making state-level races. Dr. Howard Dean, Governor Michael Dukakis, and former EPA head Gina McCarthy round out an impressive list of high-profile individuals who believe Dr. McBrine represents much needed change.

Dr. McBrine said, "Every one of these organizations and individuals believes that my policies not only represent their members but are the best way forward for the communities in this district. Their support is a source of pride, and I am honored to have earned their trust." 

As of October 1, 2018, the campaign had also secured endorsements from organizations representing labor, health care, the Democratic party, and the community:

  • LaborOPEIU Local 453 (professional, office and clerical employees of the MBTA), MBTA Inspectors Local 600 (chief inspectors and inspectors of the MBTA), UAW (among the largest and most diverse unions in the country), Massachusetts Coalition of Police (largest law enforcement union in the state)
  • Health CarePlanned Parenthood Advocacy Fund (providing access to quality health care and advancing women's and reproductive rights), MassCare (advocating for a single-payer system), NARAL Pro-Choice America
  • Party: Gina McCarthy (former administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency), Dr. Howard Dean (former Vermont governor, chair of the Democratic National Committee, and presidential candidate), Michael Dukakis (former Massachusetts governor and presidential candidate), Young Democrats of Massachusetts (engaging young people to participate in the political process), Bay State Stonewall Democrats (LGBTQ+ Democrats of Massachusetts).

With the general election only one month away, the campaign is running an aggressive grassroots effort in each of the eight cities and towns in the Plymouth and Norfolk district.
